This level crossing is located on the very busy A12 road connecting Ipswich and London with Lowestoft, and a rather large amount of road traffic uses this level crossing. Despite this, the level crossing still remains with half barriers to the day of recording, and it has two reasonably loud E2S alarms for pedestrians, as it is located next to a station with the alarms continuing until the lights extinguish.
