In this episode it's time to add some boost to the Crown Hick! After helping build the Crown Hick a 2007 Crown Victoria police car with a 1966 F100 body many years ago was fortunate enough to be able to purchase it from the company. Of course, like almost everything that gets purchased from the company, it has been thoroughly abused and most likely blown up. Let’s start it up and see what it sounds like. Crown Hick Hits the Road in HOT ROD Garage Ep. 50 Everyone needs a good shop truck, and in episode 49 of HOT ROD Garage, presented by Lincoln Tech, Tony and Lucky began building their own by frame-swapping a '66 F-100 with a P71 Crown Victoria. Why spend a ton of time adapting a modern IFS, a stronger rear-end, fuel-injected V8, and four-speed automatic to the ancient F-100 when you can put the whole F-100 on a package that has all of that included? The last-generation Ford Panther platform cars are a perfect donor chassis since you can find them cheap, and they were one of the last full-frame, RWD chassis produced -- essentially creating a skateboard of modern technology that you can slide under just about any old body. In episode 50, Tony and Lucky continue where they left off by wrapping up the cab mounts beforelowering the cab and doghouse onto the P71 frame. Once situated, it was time to make the 971 hardware -- brakes, steering, throttle, and fuel system -- fit into its new F-100 home. Afterwards, the duo take Crown Hick into the Los Angeles mountains to shakedown their new shop truck. With a nice ride, solid handling, and convenient, modern power, Crown Hick is a new favorite around the HOT ROD Garage.
