RIBANDAR AMCHO GANV Ribandar a beautiful village, located in the Tiswadi taluka of Goa, lies along the river Mandovi, between the cities of Panjim & Old Goa. The name “Ribandar” originates from two Konkani words "Rayachem Bandar" meaning “King’s Harbour”. The Traditional Ribandar folk song now named as “Ribandar Amcho Ganv, has been sung for more than 100 years from generation to generation. It is traditionally sung at every village event, be it a celebration, a picnic or a football game. The song is a prayer to the Almighty to bless the villagers of Ribandar. To preserve this rich heritage, the villagers and the village musicians came together and recorded this song for the first time and was released on World Goa Day online celebrations on 24th October 2020. This Song is dedicated to all Raibandkars and Goans spread all over the world. God Bless you all.
