Sin Causes Sickness, Jesus Heals Both | Rich Tidwell Sermon

I know many don't believe it's true but look, the Bible teaches, moreover Jesus teaches, that sin and sickness (and death) are intertwined, and yes, your sins open the door to diseases. Though sometimes sickness is not due to sin, most of the time it is. Nevertheless, in all circumstances, repentance and faith in Jesus are the key to forgiveness and healing. Sin and Sickness Intertwined: Psalm 38:3 "Because of your wrath there is no health in my body; there is no soundness in my bones because of my sin." John 5:14 "Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” 1 Cor 11:27-32 "So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. 29 For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. 30 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. 31 But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment. 32 Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be finally condemned with the world." This is why Jesus bore BOTH SIN & SICKNESS on the cross: Isaiah 53:4-5 CJB "In fact, it was our diseases he bore, our pains from which he suffered; yet we regarded him as punished, stricken and afflicted by God. But he was wounded because of our crimes, crushed because of our sins; the disciplining that makes us whole fell on him, and by his bruises we are healed." Matt 8:16-17 "When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: “He took up our infirmities and bore our diseases.” This is why we must CONFESS SIN when seeking diving healing by faith: James 5:15-16 "And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." I know many don't want to believe it, but it's better for you if you will. May the Lord bless you.
