Verse 1 मनोबुद्ध्यहङ्कार चित्तानि नाहं Meaning: I am not the mind, intellect, ego, or the stored thoughts (memory). न च श्रोत्रजिह्वे न च घ्राणनेत्रे । Meaning: I am not the ears, tongue, nose, or eyes (the sense organs). न च व्योम भूमिर्न तेजो न वायुः Meaning: I am not space, earth, fire, or air (the elements). चिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहं शिवोऽहम् ॥ Meaning: I am pure consciousness and bliss — Shivoham. Verse 2 न च प्राणसंज्ञो न वै पञ्चवायुः Meaning: I am not the life-breath, nor the five vital airs. न वा सप्तधातुर्न वा पञ्चकोशः । Meaning: I am not the seven bodily tissues, nor the five “sheaths” (layers of existence). न वाक्पाणिपादं न चोपस्थपायू Meaning: I am not speech, hands, feet, reproductive organ, or excretory organ. चिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहं शिवोऽहम् ॥ Meaning: I am pure consciousness and bliss — Shivoham. Verse 3 न मे द्वेषरागौ न मे लोभमोहौ Meaning: I have no hatred or attachment; no greed or delusion. मदो नैव मे नैव मात्सर्यभावः । Meaning: I have no pride and no jealousy. न धर्मो न चार्थो न कामो न मोक्षः Meaning: I am beyond duty (dharma), wealth (artha), desire (kama), and even liberation (moksha) as an achievement. चिदानन्दरूपः शिवोऽहं शिवोऽहम् ॥ Meaning: I am pure consciousness and bliss — Shivoham.
