TWM Episode 32 Snowbirds Staying Home

Welcome to Travels with Morrie, a multi-year, full-time RV adventure around North America! This video is being posted on the day the US President is calling Liberation Day. In a sense, we could refer to this as Sovereignty Day. We had a tough decision to make. We thoroughly enjoyed the nearly six months we spent from October 2024 to March 2025 in the US. We made friends. We had the opportunity to experience some incredible places. And, importantly to us, we spent a winter without snow! Steve even went swimming in an outdoor pool on his birthday at the end of December! That is a first. However, prices are out of control on many products in the US. Combined with the faltering value of the Canadian dollar, it was making it hard to stay within our budget. More importantly, however, was the constant hostile rhetoric that has cast a cloud over our desire to be south of the border. For these reasons, we have decided to spend the winter of 2025/26 in Canada. At this moment, we hope that things calm down and return to some semblance of normal, allowing us to return to the US later. We have friends we want to visit! However, we are also cognizant of the fact that we have a legitimate Plan B that will allow us to continue our journey exclusively in Canada. We never intended for this channel to become bogged down in politics. It is a shame it got to this point. We are very much looking forward to sharing our continued adventures with you, featuring distinctly Canadian content.
