Kolonihavehuspolska - Cittern

One thing that I love about playing music is how it connects people from all over the world and how you can meet so many interesting people and make friends through it. In the summer of 2019 my wife and I were on a little trip through Sweden and on our way back home to Germany, we were invited by our friends Anna and Christian (who I met a couple of years before at a music workshop) to visit them in Aarhus, Denmark. We spent the first night in a lovely little "kolonihavehus", which is basically a cottage with a garden built in a special area reserved for this type of house. Incidentally, Christian just got his cittern built by Søren Vinther Røgen some months before and I got to try it out. Inbetween our walks, conversations, cooking and jamming, I've went back to pick up Christian's cittern again and again and just improvised, because I loved the sound of the instrument so much. During one of these sessions, this little tune came to my mind. It always reminds me of the beautiful couple of days we spent together and the hospitality of our friends. 💜 So, I would like to dedicate this "Kolonihavehuspolska" to Anna and Christian, played on my very own cittern built by Søren that I ordered a couple weeks after having tried Christian's instrument 😉 Cittern built by Søren Vinther Røgen.
