The Children’s Literacy Project (CLP), in partnership with the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading (CGLR) and The Learning Alliance (TLA), is in the process of producing a groundbreaking 9 module video masterclass series. This series chronicles the incredible transformation of the Indian River County School District and TLA’s Moonshot Moment Initiative. What began as a failing “D” school in Florida has become the most improved school in the state, earning an “A” rating and demonstrating the power of collaborative, data-driven education reform. The Moonshot Video Series explores key strategies that drove this transformation, including decisive curriculum and staffing changes, improved classroom techniques, five literacy blocks a day, a data-centric approach, and a relentless commitment to prioritizing what is "best for kids." The results are extraordinary: reading proficiency rose from 18% to 70%, with an ambitious goal of reaching 90% within two more years. This video masterclass provides educators, administrators, and community leaders with replicable models of systemic change that prioritize literacy as a cornerstone of academic success.
