The 2025 Mazda BT-50 is looking to re-establish the long-running series in Australia's ultra-competitive ute segment. As such, it represents the first major update for the third-generation model, which is twinned with the third best-selling utility vehicle locally, the Isuzu D-Max. So, what's new with the BT-50? Well, it has a completely redesigned front end that is even more in line with Mazda's current design language, with highlights including new headlights, a darkened grille and a larger badge. At the rear, the tailgate has also been reshaped. Inside, a fresh touchscreen multimedia system – with some physical controls – has been introduced. In this news video, CarsGuide Journalist Chris Thompson conducts a walk-around preview of the updated BT-50 to find out if its rivals should be worried ahead of its national launch in the first quarter of next year.
