A few weeks ago, as Chinese New Year, and the Year of the Horse approached, I set myself an AI film brief in my ongoing quest to do and learn: create something ‘horsey’ but not your usual ‘horsey, horsey’ stuff. Ideas I flirted with: -Two glammed-up mature ladies eyeing up a literal ‘Stud with 2 left feet’, prancing on the dance floor to Take That in a Magaluf club. One cheekily exclaims, “Bet he’s hung like a horse.” Cackling ensues. -A soap opera only featuring horses called ‘Neigh-bors’. -A group of ‘horsey’ posh country folks walks into a bar… (Not sure where I was going with this one) I settled on the story of Randy, the legendary rodeo rider and his crazed nemesis, Kamikaze Duke. It felt right as this specific Year of The Horse, is the year of the Fire Horse. “There is a superstition that "a woman born in the year of the fire horse has a strong temperament she can bring ruin to their families or even kill their husbands." Luckily, at the time of developing this film, the upgraded AI video generator Kling 3.0 dropped and really upped the game in generating footage. Other tools used, Nano Banana Pro. Elevenlabs.
