Why I don't like a Calendar Spreads but Love Unicorn Options strategy: Theta decay for low IV environments is a trade that I invented that utilizes extreme theta decay for trading stocks when the Implied volatility rank is low. It's a variation of a Poor Man's Covered Call where a diagonal call spread is added to the trade to create a bullish, limited loss strategy that can benefit from IV expansion. Because it's a synthetic stock position, it's easily defended from upside movement but is quite flexible at defending downward movement as well.
