This is Part 2 of my July Dinner in January series. I was asked to prepare two items for a traditional July dinner that included hotdogs, homemade chili, coleslaw, french fries, and ice cream. In this video, I’m making homemade ice cream from scratch to complete the menu. 📱 Why this is a separate video: Due to a technical issue on my phone, I wasn’t able to record both dishes at the same time. Because of that, this project was split into two separate videos so nothing was lost. 👉 Part 1 features the homemade coleslaw 👉 Part 2 (this video) features the homemade ice cream Even though it’s January, this meal captures the feeling of a classic summer dinner—proof that comfort food doesn’t have a season. Ingredients (2 bowls will be needed) 2 cups heavy whipping cream 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk 3 tsp vanilla extract In first bowl, beat the cream until you have stiff peaks. In second bowl, mix the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until completely combined. Gently pour milk mixture into the whipped cream. With a folding motion, gently combine the milk so as not to deflate the whipping cream. Pour mixture into preferred freezing bowl and quickly transfer to the freezer. Should be ready in 3-6 hour depending on your freezer. If you enjoy traditional recipes, seasonal twists, and from-scratch cooking, be sure to like, comment, and subscribe.
