Her faith in heroes was severely shaken, abandoned by her idols. Trapped in a suspended metal can full of screaming people, helpless, and terrified. • As Superman stepped into the cabin, she 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱𝗻'𝘁 even look at him, she was too afraid she'd see Homelander's 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝗱 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲 again. The damage was done. Ultimately, that is the price of a Superhero's 𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘆: The loss of trust of the people. Something most of the jaded Supers of Vought could care less about. (Maeve however, was deeply relieved Superman intervened) In time, the girl will heal, but that 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲 made Clark realize that he made a serious mistake going underground, trusting that the World was safe in the hands of jaded Supers. And those people, that innocent child almost paid the price, with their lives. 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘀, and he's not going anywhere. With the passengers alive to testify, with video evidence, and Superman attending their Court hearings to protect them. Vought is dealt an undeniably monumental blow to their long term profits and image; More so Homelander in the eyes of the general public.
