This is the SECOND PART of a THREE-PART LESSON on the Tagalog verb or verbs (because there are many of them) equivalent to the English verb TO WALK. I have decided to break the lesson down to three parts since this is a long lesson. Tagalog verbs are formed from the combination of a ROOT WORD and AFFIXES. In the case of the verb TO WALK, Tagalog has several versions of this. The INFINITIVE verbs are: ACTOR FOCUSED VERBS • LUMAKAD (to walk; to go out) • MAGLAKAD (to walk) • MALAKAD (to be able to walk) OBJECT FOCUSED VERBS • LAKARIN (to go and walk along a path; to go out to arrange something) • ILAKAD (to walk someone or something; to go out of one’s way to say good things about someone to get approval) • LAKARAN (to walk on something) IN THIS VIDEO, we focus on the PROGRESSIVE ASPECT (or NAGAGANAP) of these verbs. Progressive aspect is when the action is presently occurring or in progress. The PROGRESSIVE ASPECT of LAKAD are: ACTOR FOCUSED VERBS • LUMALAKAD (walking or out to do something) • NAGLALAKAD (walking) • NALALAKAD (being able to wal) OBJECT FOCUSED VERBS • LINALAKAD (walking something) • ILINALAKAD (walking something) • LINALAKARAN (walking on something) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- TIME STAMPS 00:00 Intro to Part 2 00:23 In the Last Video 00:58 The Many Versions of “To Walk” in Tagalog 01:56 The Progressive Aspect (Nagaganap) 07:49 Using LAKAD to Describe a Picture 09:00 Next Video and Extro ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CHECK OUT EXPLAINER VIDEOS How Tagalog Words are Created (E63) • How Tagalog Words are Created (E63) Introduction to Tagalog Verbs (E64) • Introduction to Tagalog Verbs (E64) Story Telling: Writing, Reading, Eating (E65) • Story Telling: Writing, Reading, Eating (E65) Explaining the Verb “To Walk” in Tagalog | PART 1 (E74) • Explaining the Verb “To Walk” in Tagalog |...
