EPTIC: “​​My flight from Europe got cancelled leaving me stuck in Chicago. Alec mentioned to me he was from there, so i hit his line and asked him if he was around. He invited me over, and once there we roughly had 90 minutes before i had to head back to the airport. We talked and laughed for about an hour. i had a good time but my expectations for getting anything done were honestly pretty low. Miraculously we whipped up the first demo of this song in about 15 minutes. We have a very similar way of working and it just clicked. I left back to Belgium and was so excited about the idea i worked on it the entire trip back. It’s been a staple in both of our sets ever since we got it playable, people have been singing it at every show despite it being unreleased at the time. I’m super excited to get this out, it’s the first time i’ve been thankful for my plane being cancelled.” LYNY: “I’ve been a huge fan of Michael’s project for a very long time. You can tell he’s very passionate. Very much in his own lane, always pushing limits, always going above and beyond. When he first messaged me to make a tune, I was obviously super stoked. He had a layover in Chicago for a few hours, so he came through to my apartment and that’s when we started the collab. I was just moving in at the time so my studio was only about halfway set up. We chatted for a bit, made a few noises in Serum, and that’s sort of how it all started. From there we would work over the internet, sending the project stems back and forth. Took us a bit to wrap it up- it’s quite loud and has lots of elements, but it turned out great, and we’re both super proud of it. The whole process was really fun. I think we work really well together. We did a great job of being honest with each other while still being open and letting our different taste’s shine through.
