THE YELLOW WALL! BUNDESLIGA 2024: VLOG #73 BORUSSIA DORTMUND VS SC FREIBURG @ SIGNAL IDUNA PARK

For stop #11 we head to the long awaited grounds of the mythical Signal Iduna Park. Home to Borussia Dortmund and one of the best home ends in Europe, also referred to as the "Yellow Wall". I would be watching Dortmund host SC Freiburg under the Friday night lights and what would turn into one of my most favorite visits of the series so much that I would wind up a tad bit drunk. I arrived to Dortmund after a smooth 45 min train ride from Duisburg. Upon exiting the station, I noticed the football museum that was right out front. I was tempted to go, but I opted not to and instead chose to walk around the city for a bit. I stumbled across a small fair in the town center and hung out there a bit before grabbing a baked potato at a nearby shop. At this point I wasn't sure if I wanted to check anything else in specific so I ended up looking for a bar to have a couple of drinks at. After trying 2 different pubs, I ended up at Ratsschanke for the remainder of the evening. It was there I would befriend Mark and Nick, a British father and son who were there to visit the grounds as well. Hull City fans at heart, we instantly hit it off and would be sharing drink after drink and convo after convo. Before we noticed, the time came to march to the stadium. The trip to the stadium was quick as we were led by a group of locals that even a couple of drunkards like us could not get lost. We reached the turnstiles to get into the grounds, and I had to make the decision of whether going to my assigned seat in the west stand or try to find a way into the yellow wall, I chose the latter. As we finally stepped into the stadium, I could hear YNWA begin and I decided to bolt to the stands and before I knew it I had lost my newly friends. To make matters worse, I almost was detained from getting into the stands by a steward, but went through a different gate and managed my way into the thousands of yellow. I did however miss YNWA, but regardless I was overfilled with joy by just being in the Yellow Wall. It was difficult to record both because of how drunk I was and how crazy the environment was. I feel like I did well under the circumstances. The match and atmosphere were epic just as I had envisioned it. I also felt like the match went by fast too for it was drawing near towards the end with the score at 3 nil, which it would remain. I had an amazing time so much that I would go back to the bar to meet up with Nick and Mark for some more drinks! but that’s how my visit to Dortmund went. I hope you enoy the latest entry to the series. I know i've been lacking on uploading the rest of the vlogs, but I've been real busy so I hope you understand. I'll try to get the remaining 3 up ASAP.
