From Friday 18th - Monday 21st of April 2025, the Severn Valley Railway held their annual Spring Steam Gala event. This years show took place during the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. However, due to the landslip near Eardington, trains weren't able to run into Bridgnorth so instead trains ran from Kidderminster to Hampton Loade. There were a mix of passenger and freight trains running over the weekend. At Bridgnorth 1450 and 7714 were giving train rides in station limits and there was a nice variety of 6 locomotives in steam during the weekend with 3 guests and 5 home fleet members in action. The few home fleet members in service were supported by 45596 'Bahamas' which made a return visit after attending last years Autumn Steam Gala, joining Bahamas were two further guest engines. Making its first visit to the line was 6880 'Betton Grange' and the final guest engine was 45699 'Galatea' masquerading as 45627 'Sierra Leone', this gave us the privilege of seeing two LMS Jubilees in action together on one railway. Its not something you see everyday. 7812 'Erlestoke Manor' was making its final appearance on the railway for a while as it will be based on the West Somerset Railway til 2027, the double headed pairing with 7802 'Bradley Manor' was the highlight of the show. 7802 was also turned out in a condition reminiscent of that of the 1960s with no nameplates and Dannys Bull style white buffers, lamp brackets, smokebox door darts and hinges. Locomotives featured: GWR 7800 Class no. 7802 'Bradley Manor' GWR 7800 Class no. 7812 'Erlstoke Manor' LMS Jubilee Class no. 45596 'Bahamas' (Courtesy of The Bahamas Locomotive Society Limited) GWR 6800 Class no. 6880 'Betton Grange' ( Courtesy of 6880 Betton Grange Society Limited) BR Standard Class 4MT no. 75069 LMS jubilee Class no. 45699 'Galatea masquerading as 45627 'Sierra Leone' (Courtesy of West Coast Railways) 7714 and 1450 were also in action at Bridgnorth, however neither of them feature in this video but do feature in other videos on my channel. The DMU and 33108 also feature in this video. A huge well done to everyone at the railway for making the best of a bad situation and being able to still host what was a great show.
