The Distinguished Visitors Lecture Series at Robson Hall, Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba, was pleased to host award-winning Canadian journalist, broadcaster and novelist Linden MacIntyre, who spoke to law students on “Idiot-proofing Democracy: Can We Count on Law and the Judiciary for Reassurance?” MacIntyre was a key speaker at the 2018 Pitblado Lectures, which took place Friday, November 2, 2018 at Fort Garry Place, Grand Ballroom. Formerly appearing for many years on CBC’s Fifth Estate, he has won ten Gemini Awards, an International Emmy, and many other Journalism and writing awards. A novelist as well, he won the 2009 Scotiabank Giller Prize for The Bishop’s Man.
