Catherine Syombua, a single mother of five children, narrates her story today about the struggles she has endured. She was raised in a very humble background and faced rejection from her family, starting with her own mother. Overwhelmed by hardships, she decided to drop out of school and run away from home. She moved to the city to work at her aunt’s place, but over time, she felt sidelined. Eventually, she chose to leave and start her own life. While searching for a place to stay, she met a man who loved her. However, as time went on, he abandoned her, leaving her with children. In the process, she had more children with different men, hoping they would support her. Unfortunately, she ended up living on the streets, where she endured immense hardships. Life on the streets exposed her to many dangers—she was used by men, and in the end, she contracted an infection. When she visited the hospital for a check-up, she was diagnosed with the infection. In her despair, she made the decision to spread the virus to the men she encountered. For three years on the streets, she engaged with numerous men, knowingly infecting them. Today, however, she has turned her life around. She has accepted her past and is striving to rebuild her future. She is actively involved in church and raising her children.
