This construction enhances contrast and visibility while preserving the visual depth of each layer. A particularly notable design choice is the elongated date window, which mirrors the length of the 9 o'clock index to create perfect symmetry and allows more light to enter the aperture, improving legibility without compromising aesthetic balance. Another highlight was Laurent Ferrier's natural escapement movement, a modern reinterpretation of the Abraham-Louis Breguet invention. This dual-wheel escapement is constructed using nickel-phosphorus components fabricated via the LIGA process, allowing for extremely high precision and long-term stability. The system operates with two escapement wheels and a silicon lever, engaging in a low-friction impulse mechanism. The contact area between the gear tooth and lever is just 11 microns, a detail that underscores the ultra-fine tolerances within the movement’s architecture.
