A Gibson Eye. It is kind of like a blend between an SG and a Telecaster or a more 'metal' SG. Whatever you call it, it is definitely out there! In 2009 Gibson made up to 350 Fired Engine Red versions of these guitars... but you'll notice that this one is not red... This is either a prototype for an unreleased follow up version of this guitar or was a way Gibson cleverly used up old bodies of the Red versions that did not sell. It's hard to say either way, but there are very few Black Gibson Eyes out there. I've only seen photos of one other one. The black version has platinum hardware (like the SG and LP Platinum series) a satin finish, some different cosmetic parts / tuners, but other than that the mahogany body and neck and ebony fretboard are the same. This guitar is stamped USED because it was part of Gibson's auction at the Bluegrass Showroom. All instruments sold at this auction were marked USED since they were sold as-is.
