Although born in Yorkshire, England, Dianne Chandler settled in South Africa with her husband / manager, Mike Bourne, in the mid-1970s. She started performing at the Top of the Carlton nightclub in Johannesburg, where she was discovered by Ann Greenwood, a talent scout for the SABC TV Variety Department, who offered her two 60-minute TV specials, “I Believe In Music” and “The Music In Me”. Not only did these shows launch her career in South Africa, but also a brand-new hairstyle trend, promptly dubbed the Dianne Chandler look. During the 1970s and 1980s she worked continually in television and theatre, even landing the coveted role of Eva Peron in Andrew Lloyd Webber's “Evita”. In 1985 she devised a show around the songs which enjoyed popularity during the Second World War, entitled “We’ll Meet Again”. It ran for 6 years from 1989 and confirmed her "star status" in South Africa. Subsequently she devised another show, linking together all the hit songs written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and friends, and called it “No Big Song And Dance”. In later years she settled in Franschhoek in the Western Cape, although she spent 6 months per year in Canada and the USA. This song is off her first album “Dianne Chandler”, released in 1976. It's a cover of an ABBA song from 1974.
