Polish Ambassador to Korea Piotr Ostaszewski 피오트르 오스타셰프스키 주한 폴란드 대사 2019 marks the centennial of Korea's March 1 Independence Movement, one of the earliest and most significant public displays of Korean resistance during the rule of Korea by Japan, and the founding of the Korean Provisional Government. Around the same time 100 years ago, Poland in Eastern Europe also fought for and regained its independence in 1918. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence, 100 Independence Runs were held in 100 cities around the world, including Seoul, on November 11 last year. Korea and Poland share many historical similarities. Also, 2019 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. On "The Diplomat" this week, we invite Polish Ambassador to Korea Piotr Ostaszewski to talk about our historical tragedies, the present and future of the two countries' relationship, and the Seoul part of the Poland Independence Run. 3.1 운동과 대한민국 임시정부 설립 100주년을 맞은 2019년!
