Most impermanent: Mount Sumeru beneath the brush, proven fleeting; Su Mu Zhe lamps—brilliant as a blossom that blooms but once. Most of one suchness: clear softness ground into dense ink; when we meet again, it is as it always was— like dew, like lightning. . This journey wound from Kucha to Chang’an; in silent monasteries, once followed by millions of disciples. This nirvana—ashes of kalpas never truly decayed; a fractured wholeness is what should be contemplated thus. . In flourishing years, footsteps crossed fields of camelthorn; watching the sun at Liangzhou, dawn and dusk blurred, vermilion fading to violet.
