I had an idea that this song would work well a-capella with layered harmony vocals; the sparse instrumental arrangement was later built around this. I used a lap steel guitar with a slide, an e-bow (which magnetically vibrates guitar strings without touching them), and lots of delay+reverb to do the 'solo' parts. Jen's vocals, as always, elevate the arrangement. This is probably the release that diverges the most from the rest of my work thus far, but it's a production style that I'm looking to keep exploring. The video is recorded in three locations. In order of appearance: Ogmore Beach (Wales), summer 2022; Great Western Mainline, somewhere between Newport and London, summer 2023, The sky approaching Amsterdam on a KLM flight, late 2022. Similar to the 'Waterloo Sunset' video from 2021, I felt that this song warranted some ambient photography rather than a 'playalong' video.
