Inside the cocoon (womb), you are an unknown creature, a spirit with an appetite for evoking your power to be born into the gateway. A mother’s body comprises the divergence, emergence, and convergence points of sacred energy, guiding the fetus through an endless universe filled with a visual tapestry, memories, sounds, and signals received by the tiny and mesmerizing creature. The fetus's auditory sense ranges from 500 Hz to high frequencies up to 2000 Hz. Heartbeat, breathing, blood flow, speech, music, and the digestive system, along with many other frequencies, can be comprehended and connected to body cells, influencing DNA. By the last month of pregnancy, the fetus will be able to hear at about the same level as an adult. In this project, I aimed to immerse myself in the bathwater, embarking on a fascinating journey into the realm of sound distortion and sensory exploration. As the water enveloped my ears, I experienced a unique perspective akin to the auditory environment of a fetus in the womb. The gentle filtering of sounds through the water served as an intriguing metaphor for the obstacles and filters that shape our perception from the earliest stages of life. This immersive experiment not only deepened my understanding of fetal sensory experiences but also provided a profound appreciation for the soothing embrace of a bath tub, transforming it into a vessel for both relaxation and intellectual discovery. "Mirroring and becoming a thing." I utilized recorded sounds and decreased the frequency range of each layer for this simulation. Additionally, I endeavored to visualize the womb atmosphere using 3D modeling, Touch Designer, and real footage.
