Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2017 Dodge Durango, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness. But before we get to that, let's just take a minute, check this out and make sure it'll work for you. With the Dodge Durango being a full size SUV, you notice it is capable and it can pull some trailers around. And if that's what you plan on doing, you're gonna need a way to illuminate the trailer's lights and that's where our wiring connector is going to come into play. So this is gonna be a 4-way flat type connector. This is a super common type and it'll work with a lot of those smaller and medium size trailers. It'll give you your turn signals, your brake lights, as well as your taillight signals. So you'll have all your bases covered there. And in terms of actually mounting this up, you got a couple different choices. We used a bracket here today, a no-drill bracket that clamps to the hitch and then this 4-way flat bracket to secure the wiring. But honestly, on a setup like this too, I think it would be just fine if you take your dust cover and loop it around the safety chain openings and you can secure it that way. But whatever you choose is perfectly fine. When it comes to the quality construction with Tekonsha, I'm actually a big fan of their wiring. I had a Honda Pilot for many years with Tekonsha wiring on it, never ran in any issues. So I've got faith in them. And as far as getting this installed goes, it's really not that it's complicated, more or less it's just time consuming and tight. Underneath here where they want you to mount everything and run the wires and whatnot. You just don't have a whole lot of room to work. So stay patient with that and expect that to say at least. But if you're interested in seeing how we did it, feel free to follow along. We'll go ahead and hook it up together now. To begin our install, we're gonna be here at back of our Durango. You're gonna open up your hatch and the first thing we're gonna do is remove our taillights. So those are gonna be held in place with two push pin type fasteners. And the way you can get these out is with the flathead screwdriver or trim panel tool or a combination of both. But you're going to just pry underneath the head of the fastener till that pops out. Then you can work the base out and I'll just pop them back together so we keep track of them. I'll do the same thing here, get that one out, and then we should be able to grab our taillight, wiggle it around and push back on it to get it to release. Sometimes these can be pretty tight so if we come around to this side. I'll show you a trick that makes it a little bit easier. If you take the palm of your hand and just hold the light steady, a lot of times it'll help loosen it up. And if it's not coming, just take your time, keep working it around. You don't wanna get too forceful 'cause you don't wanna break it obviously. But eventually we will get it to pop out. So something else you might be able to do, you can take some soapy water and spray it in the crack 'cause there's a keeper in there that's holding the thing up. So by lubricating it, it might make it a little bit easier to get out. And worst case, if you can't get it, you can always use a plastic trim panel tool like this, help give you a little more leverage and pop it out of there. So those are the alignment pins that we're holding it up. All right, so that's what we we're popping free. We need to unplug it now. So there's a connector, push down on the center, pull it apart, we can set our light off to the side and do the same thing to get the passenger one removed. So now we can take our new harness and start to feed the wires down in through the taillight pocket. So I got my green connector here, start to push that down. Our factory are all gonna go underneath there with the exception of one wire, which will be the yellow tee connector. So I'll do is take one end of it, plug it into our factory harness there. Then I'm just gonna take the whole module box and everything and drop that down to the underside of our vehicle. So push this all the way in. And then once it's all the way down there, what we can do grab is our taillight again and just plug it right back in and reinstall this opposite way that we removed it. So now over here on the passenger side, what we're gonna do is just prep
