Cloud9 are known for their miraculous runs in League of Legends. But even for the miracle-makers at C9, some things seem impossible. Reversing a 3-7 split, making it to playoffs and then Worlds, all with a crew full of rookies? When C9 announced that they were benching three of their all-stars for a group of Academy players, then spent the first half of the season rotating people in and out, fans were ready to write off C9. Obviously the roster succeeded, but in hindsight people didn’t understand that C9 was proving that with franchising, good coaching and smart roster moves, you can build a better team than just having five star players.
