03/20/2026 12:00 pm GMT-0700 | Lake Hughes – A large animal rescue operation is underway in Lake Hughes after Los Angeles County officials served a search warrant at a property connected to Rock N Paws Rescue. At around 7:00 a.m. Friday morning, the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control served a warrant in the 46000 block of 266th Street West as part of an investigation into alleged animal welfare law violations. Officials estimate nearly 700 dogs and cats are on the property and will be removed as part of the rescue effort. Investigators from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office also assisted in serving the warrant. The operation is expected to take time as authorities work to safely recover the animals.
