Claude Debussy's war pieces for solo piano (1914-1917) [New engravings]

A collection of Debussy's war inspired works for solo piano: 0:00 - Pour l'œuvre du « Vêtement du blessé » (1915) It was written to help raise money for the the charity Vêtement du blessé [Clothing for the wounded]. The surviving manuscript is a copy given to Debussy's wife, Emma, who also contributed to the organization. 1:02 - « Les soirs illuminés par l'ardeur du charbon » (1917) It was given to his coal merchant Monsieur Tronquin for having provided him coal during sparse supply in winter due to the ongoing war. This piece seems to quote some of his Préludes. 3:12 - Élegie (1915) It was published in facsimile in the book Pages inédites sur la femme et la guerre (1916). It is my favorite of the collection. 5:40 - Berceuse héroïque (1914) Written "to pay homage to His Majesty King Albert I of Belgium and to his soldiers". At 7;43 the Belgian anthem is heard. Debussy also later orchestrated this piece, which I prefer over this version. Pianist : Jean-Efflam Bavouzet The score in this video is the result of my attempt to recreate the engraving style of Ch. Douin, the engraver of the publisher Durand et Fils, responsible for the elegant scores of Ravel, Schmitt, Boulanger... and of course Debussy's later compositions. I particularly love the unique aesthetic of these scores, that is made famous by the the great compositions they contained. In addition to replicating all of the fonts (4 text fonts and a music font), I also had to figure out how recreate the other factors that contribute to the style, such as the note spacing, beams angles, line thicknesses, page formatting and slurs. It was rather time consuming, but I think it turned out rather well.
