Randy Piper reappeared in the band Animal in June 1988, along with vocalist Rich Lewis, guitarist Shredder, bassist Burn, and drummer Steve Solon. Steve Riley left W.a.s.p. to join L.A. Guns, paving the way for Quiet Riot drummer Frankie Banali to join W.a.s.p. Keyboard parts were provided by Uriah Heep and Blackfoot, Ken Hensley. The Who cover, "The Real Me," was also included. The tour featured a skull similar to the one on the album cover on stage. In late 1989, Rod and Banali formed a new band, Geronimo, with former Keel, Icon, and King Kobra guitarist David Michael Phillips and vocalist Thomas Adam Kelly. Rod had spent time in prison for a minor offense. In 1990, Chris Holmes left the band. He was married to Lita Ford and appeared in the documentary Decline and Fall of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years, in a swimming pool, where he revealed his alcoholism. He also formed a band called Psycho Squad.
