A grand selection of locomotives hauling both passenger and freight at Peak Rail's Steam and Diesel Gala 2019, staring Lambton Colliery Tank No.29, fresh from her latest overhaul at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Running alongside her were resident locos; Hunslet Austerity No.72 and Class 44 D8 'Penyghent', along with visiting Beyer Peacock 1827 from the Foxfield Railway. On proud static display were two additional resident diesels; Class 25 D7659, the last locomotive to be produced by Beyer Peacock at Gorton works, which is nearing the end of her recent overhaul under the ownership of Pete Waterman. 37310 'British Steel Ravescraig', formally 37152, was also present outside the main shed, sporting her latest paint job in BR Blue Large Logo, just as she would have carried during her time based at Motherwell. Around the Rowsley South yard was a selection of other locos, with sisters 50029 'Renown' and 50030 'Repulse' currently undergoing restoration and 58022 being used as a chassis donor for the Ivatt Diesel Recreation Group Any requests or questions you may have can be left in the comment section.
