Kerala couple, after 34yrs of treatment, blessed with triplets in their 50s

After a long wait of three decades, a couple from Irinjalakkuda was blessed with 3 babies in their 50s. 59-year old George Antony and 55-year-old Cicy had been praying for a baby for the past 35 years. The couple underwent treatment for nearly 34 years. Cicy and George not only sought medical assistance from Kerala but also from abroad. In June 2021, Cicy suffered heavy bleeding and she sought treatment at a private hospital in Kochi. The doctors there suggested a Uterus removal surgery but Cicy refused to do so. On the advice of another doctor, the couple approached Sabine Hospital in Muvattupuzha. Last September, they started an infertility treatment there. According to Cicy, the treatment at Sabine was a different experience for them. After four months of the treatment, Cicy conceived the triplets. When doctors confirmed her pregnancy, they asked the couple to stop travelling. They took a house near the hospital on rent. “Age is just a number. Sabine Hospital became a milestone in my life. To those woman trying to attain motherhood, please don’t give up hope and don’t stop your treatment,” said Cicy. “Cicy’s case was a challenge for us. It is the first time here that we are having a 50+ woman delivering triplets. Earlier a 60-yr-old patient here delivered a baby boy.” said infertility specialist and chairman of Sabine Hospital and Research Centre. Last month, Cicy gave birth to two baby boys and a baby girl.
