FFIV: The After Years - Finale - Will of the Creator

RetroPlay: Video Game Walkthroughs Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection by: OmegaSion The party finally make their way to the bottommost depths of the moon. This is a longer video than I usually make, but being the final portion of The After Years I didn't really want to split the video. From the 21st floor to the 25th you will only encounter Maenads, which is what the Mysterious Girl is. There are two types you will fight, often in the same encounter. One will do nothing but cast high level spells at you, while the other will counter any attack. They aren't difficult to take out, just keep an eye on your health as they can do a bit of damage. You can also run from the battles with them if you choose to do so. On the 23rd floor you will find a room full of sleeping Maenads, one of which is a small child, speak to it and the door will open allowing you to continue. On the 25th floor you will find a lot of crystals. In this room we need to find all 8 of the crystals the Maenad's stole from our planet. From floor 26 and onwards there are no random encounters, and on the 29th floor we'll find the final save point and elevator. Make sure your items are stocked, you have your party set up, and you are fully healed before pressing on. On the 30th floor follow the path up until you find a large device, and the final battle will begin. This fight has quite a few stages. The first part you should just bash the door with normal attacks, which it will then change and start using Drain and Osmose on you which shouldn't do too much. After bashing it some more the door will open and the first phase will end, and some scenes will take place introducing you to the Creator, and the second phase of the fight will start. In this phase, the Creator will only counter your attacks. He will keep reflect on himself so just keep attacking with physical attacks, however keep an eye on your health and use a remedy or esuna on any who get paralyzed from his counter attack. Once this phase is taken care of we get thrown into the third phase. This time he will go on the offensive with high powered spells and also Eidolon attacks so keep an eye on your health, and get Shell on your team to help mitigate the damage. Once that phase is taken care of we face off against a monstrosity of an enemy, however you can do nothing to it so let the scene play out. After a bunch more scenes we finally enter the final phase of the battle. First and foremost you should use the crystal against the boss, this will allow you to damage him. Once that's out of the way unleash everything you have at him. Be careful, though, as most of his attacks will hit your entire team and deal quite a bit of damage. He will also use Black Hole frequently so don't bother buffing too much. Keep your white mage hasted at least, but you can haste the others if you wish. Also try to get Float up since the boss can use Quake. Try not to rely on Elemental damage in this fight, since his transform ability will change his elemental weakness every it's used and you will likely wind up healing the boss instead of damaging it (as I demonstrate near the end of the fight by using Holy). When the background starts to flash pink, the boss is getting ready to use an attack called Explode. Make sure your party is healed before he uses the attack because it will hit everyone for some serious damage. Split is another attack to watch out for as it will likely one-shot your weaker party members. Just keep your attacks going and keep yourself healed and you'll finally take the Creator down. At this point we only have one option: Run. The goal is to get to the room where we fought the Mysterious Girl and Bahamut, none of the save points and elevators will work so don't bother with them, also make sure your row is swapped before proceeding as encounters from this point forward are going to be back attacks. As you make your way up the Creator will attack you, however he won't deal much damage to you and deal massive damage to himself. Don't worry about spells or anything, just attack and you'll be fine. Just keep running and fighting off the creator. Once you make it to the room where we got Bahamut back, the Creator will attack once again, but this time a Maenad will cast Meteor on both herself and the Creator, taking them both out. Afterwords just head to the exit of the room and watch the ending scenes of the game. And so ends Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. I do hope you enjoyed the walkthrough and that it was helpful.
