Three weeks later, as her children watched, she was murdered in a restaurant parking lot by her husband. The murder sparked outrage among critics of local police, who a little more than a week before had arrested David Guenther for holding Pamela hostage with a gun in their home after he'd cut the phone lines. Instead of being held, Guenther that night was charged with burglary and released on $10,000 bail. Pamela, in turn, took her children with her to a shelter for battered women and filed for divorce. David Guenther continued to follow her until he finally murdered her. This documentary asks why the system, law authorities, could not protect Pamela Guenther from this terrible, violent monster. The writing was on the wall. Guenther was convicted of murder and won't be eligible for parole until 2027. He currently resides in the maximum-security Colorado State Penitentiary.
