Sometimes all it takes is an invitation. In this message, Pastor Hal Mayer reminds us that behind every story of life-change is someone who simply said, “Come and see.” Whether it’s a friend, a family member, or someone who feels far from God — your invitation could lead to their forever. MESSAGE NOTES It all starts with an invitation. John 1:40-42 NLT 40 Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, was one of these men who heard what John said and then followed Jesus. 41 Andrew went to find his brother, Simon, and told him, “We have found the Messiah” (which means “Christ”). 42 Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus. Looking intently at Simon, Jesus said, “Your name is Simon, son of John—but you will be called Cephas” (which means “Peter”). John 14:6 NLT Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” The invitation is bigger. Matthew 11:28 NLT Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Acts 2:38-41 NLT 38 Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away —all who have been called by the Lord our God.” 40 Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!” 41 Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all. Our invitation could change someone’s eternity. John 4:42 NLT Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves. Now we know that he is indeed the Savior of the world.” Romans 10:14 NLT But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? Matthew 28:18-20 NLT 18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Weekly Podcast: • Pastors' Hangover Podcast Sermones en español: / @gfcfloridaespanol ABOUT GRACE FAMILY CHURCH Grace Family Church is a nondenominational, Bible-based church in Tampa, Florida.
