How we live from the sea. Our last days in The San Blas Islands of Panama.

In the last film we have been in the mainland Panama in Linton Bay, doing a lot of repairs, mainly on engine, doing some necessary maintenance and doing provisioning. In this film we came back to San Blas (Kuna Yala) and you’ll see how we live from the sea when we’re at least 2 days away from the nearest supermarket. We stocked up with all essentials for the next 3 months - flour, sugar, pasta, oil etc. Nearly every week comes a supply boat from the mainland. They bring us fresh fruits, vegetables, bear, cheese, butter, eggs. Snorkeling, hunting, baking bread - these are our everyday activity. Highlights of seafood recipes - Cazuela de mariscos and ceviche. The best part of the cruising life - gathering together, cooking together and eating together - especially with out good friends SY Victoria. Beach barbecue with Plucky from Sailing for Freedom. There is a rainy season now, but it is not really bad - sometimes it’s rainy, but most of the time the weather is very nice, just not enough wind. On San Blas we started separating garbage - organic parts goes to the sea, fish like it. All paper and partly plastic we burn. The rest - beer cans, bottles, plastic bottles we keep and later will bring back to the mainland. In the end of the film you’ll be astonished (as we were astonished too) we went to Nargana island to the hospital. Just imagine, in the middle of the nowhere there is a hospital with a very good equipped dentist practice.
