Jacobovitz Chopper - First time using it

This is my first surgery using the Jacobovitz Chopper - a multifunctional chopper created by the very inventive Brazilian eye surgeon, Dr. Sérgio Jacobovitz. The patient had a relatively soft cataract (not the ideal case for the first time - which would be a 2+/4 nuclear cataract) and for that reason, the crack was not complete after dividing the 2 heminuclei. For an experienced user of the Jacobovitz chopper, it can be used in virtually any type of cataract (from the very soft to the rock). Besides, I have chosen to switch instruments after the crack (using a blunt nucleus manipulator - which is unnecessary after the learning curve). Another important step to observe: careful removal of the choppers from the anterior chamber through the incisions, to avoid catching the capsulorrexis margin or iris. It is a spectacular device, very useful. It should be in the surgical tray of every cataract surgeon (NFI).
