It was built by the well known Cologne Cathedral Architect ‘Zwirner’ and got thoroughly refurbished and renovated in the 80s. The manor house provides 6 bedrooms with attached bathrooms, an octagon room with a large open fire place, a library, a well equipped kitchen, a separate dining room, a meditation & yoga room, a seminar & concert room as well as a sauna & spa area and a roof terrace. Haus Fürstenberg is located in the nature reserve and bird sanctuary on the Fürstenberg Hill near Xanten. It is charmingly imbedded in a large park with a lovely natural swimming pond and a beautiful rose garden. Besides, there is a unique view onto the ‚Altrhein‘ river from many rooms and the terrace. Already in the 12th century a Cistercian Women Convent was built on the property. Today, only the Cross Chapel, constructed in 1671/72 remained as part of the convent. One of the roads to Santiago still leads pass by the Haus Fürstenberg as a sacred ancient pilgrim’s path. The historic estate is available all year round for private renting. It is the perfect hideaway place for finding tranquility, relaxation and regeneration as well as an excellent spiritual retreat place.
