It was purchased new March 2017 from Penninsula Auto Group in Bremerton. It shows absolutely no signs of abuse, neglect, or any damage whatsoever.  It has some nove upgrades like an R&G tidy tail, CRG bar end mirrors, a Wings Exhaust, Seat Concepts seat, and a Shorai lithium battery.  We also have every stock piece that was swapped out including passenger pegs, and the stock seat as well.  As we said, one of the nicest examples out there!   We had our service techs give it a safety inspection, a screw was found in the rear tire and a new Conto is going right back on.  Everything else was fantastic.  We have all service records including the most recent "6200 mile" service, and all manuals, including a factory service manual both factory keys, and a clear WA title.  PRESS Husqvarna 701 Supermoto - How to Shame Sportbikes Husqvarna brought about only one change for the 2017 bike, but it’s a doozy. That's right, for 2017 it's swapped out the old 690cc engine (the one originally created for the 2012 KTM 690 Duke), for the one developed for last year’s 690 Duke.  The revised engine is more oversquare, with a larger bore (105mm versus 102mm) and shorter stroke (80mm vs. 84.5mm). It also has a new connecting rod, piston, plain bearing, and crankshaft. Best yet? Through the second balancer shaft, it offers up reduced vibrations while revving an additional 1,000 rpm, with the rev limiter now set at 9,500 rpm instead of 8,500 rpm. The sport of supermoto was born with ABC’s Wide World of Sports’ Superbikers competition in 1979. The brainchild of promoter Gavin Trippe, it pit top riders from different disciplines, battling each other on a mixed pavement and dirt course at Carlsbad Raceway in California. Racers on various motorcycles ranging from modified 500cc two-stroke motocrossers to Harley-Davidson XR750s with at track tires competed in the made-for-television concoction. Europeans eventually picked up on the sport, lacing up wide 17-inch rims with slicks and fitting big front brakes to motocross machines. By the early 2000s, both the FIM and AMA were running supermoto championships with factory teams racing on dedicated tracks that featured a combination of asphalt and hard-packed dirt with jumps.   Though common on street bikes, the 701’s chromoly trellis frame—weighing just 18.5 pounds—is unconventional for a dirt bike. Unusual for all bikes, the rear- mounted 3.4-gallon fuel tank is a complex plastic rotomolding that doubles as the rear subframe, and is strong enough to allow the 701 to carry a passenger and luggage.  For riders accustomed to street bikes, the riding position initially feels odd with the long, 35-inch-high seat. For best results, the 701 needs to be ridden like a dirt bike—slide forward on the seat and use the bars to push the Husky down into the turns while keeping your body upright. The wide bars give excellent leverage to flick the bike hard onto its side, and the fast steering Husky will turn from side to side as quickly as the rider can countersteer. Riding the 701 Supermoto over some of the best mountain roads Southern California has to offer was supremely confidence-inspiring. The 701 dares its rider to go faster than seems sensible on unfamiliar roads, even on fresh tires. The latest ContiAttack SMs have what Continental calls TractionSkin, which is a micro-rough tread surface, giving you traction from the rst revolution of the tire. Mid-corner line changes are no problem, just push the bike down farther, lifting the inside boot off the footpeg to allow it to drag if necessary. The tighter and more numerous the turns, the more advantage the 701 has over conventional sport bikes, as tire grip from the Contis is never a concern. The Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is an incredible motorcycle. There's gobs of power delivered with the best characteristics of a single and a twin, light yet stable handling, strong brakes, and it looks incredible. The past three weeks on this bike have been not only some of my most enjoyable, but have also spurred some of the most growth in my riding abilities. The thing is just so competent that pushing yourself feels more safe.
