My pituitary cyst took a while to diagnose because my symptoms were so general. I had no idea what was wrong with me but I knew something was wrong. For about 4 years I had been experiencing severe headaches in my right eye which doctors overlooked as migraines. Due to my sickle cell, any other pain I experience is not “painful” so the headaches weren’t particularly painful for me but they were constant and more annoying, so eventhough I mentioned the headaches to doctors, it was never taken seriously because it was not as painful. I also felt generally unwell and severe fatigue- my routine became mainly sleep. I would sleep from 10pm to 13pm the next day, make a meal then have to sleep again for 4/5 hours because making that meal would tire me out so much. At my worst I was spending about 20 hours a day sleeping and spending 4 hours awake.
