In 2018, four Zerame XT ceramic implants were placed in the edentulous upper jaw of a 65-year-old female patient alio loco. At that time, they were insufficiently restored with acetal dentures on PEEK telescopic crowns. The patient was informed about the implant-retained restoration recommendation for the upper jaw but wanted to have a cost-effective palate-free restoration without additional implants. The existing ceramic implants were stable, but clearly divergent. A hybrid prosthesis with a metal-free Docklocs® attachment system was therefore an obvious choice for the new restoration. The Docklocs® attachment system can be used to compensate for divergence angles of up to 40°. A transfer key was used to check whether the prosthesis could be removed without excessive pressure despite the divergence of the four Docklocs®. This was possible without any problems. The matrices could be polymerised intraorally without pressure. The prosthesis with the Docklocs® attachment system has been in situ for 3 years without any irritation.
