4/30: Guidelines for Promoting Privacy in Facial Recognition Technology

Join us for this 60-minute workshop with Vance Ricks, associate teaching professor in the departments of Philosophy and Computer Science at Northeastern University, for a workshop on the use of facial recognition technologies and privacy. In this training, participants will learn about different kinds of facial recognition technologies and other forms of biometric identification, and will discuss some of the main ways of thinking about privacy and obscurity with the use of these technologies. Participants will learn about the challenges that facial recognition technologies pose to privacy and obscurity and will understand how governments can articulate clear and robust guidelines for the use of facial recognition technologies, in order to safeguard privacy.
