In 2004 we arranged a four day festival at Mosebacke as a celebration of what we had accomplished within the first years of the label. The festival included most of the bands released so far by the label, and it was huge success. All four nights were packed and people had to turn at the door. The legendary musician Berndt Egerbladh called me a couple of weeks after and told me he was one of them who couldn’t get in. And he was so happy about it! He actually said that he had never thought that he would be happy to miss a gig, but seeing all these young people who came to hear live jazz, the music he had spent his life on contributing to, was gave him nothing but hapiness. All four nights were recorded by Göran Stegborn, and most of it was released in the limited numbered cd box set ”Moserobie Jazz Manifesto” (which is still available!). Plans were also made to make a DVD, and film producer Cristian Badilla did film everything and did an amazing job! Although, this DVD was never released, because we could not really afford it, and felt that we probably wouldn’t get the money back for making the production. Cristian Badilla recently found the films, and we are extremely happy for his generosity to let us share these films with you! The music shows us all when we were young and full of fire! A time that will never come back, but makes us all happy and proud, and brings us great memories! The second film we share is from the second concert from the first night of the festival (14/1 2004): Fredrik Nordström Quintet - Viking Fredrik made his debut as a leader with the great album Urgency on Dragon Records in 2000, and had previously to his Moserobie album Moment (which was released after this festival) made the album Dog Out as a co-leader with Alberto Pinton. Torbjörn Gulz replaces vibraphonist Mattias Ståhl, who could not make this gig. Fredrik Nordström - Saxophone Magnus Broo - Trumpet Torbjörn Gulz - Rhodes Filip Augustson - Bass Fredrik Rundqvist - Drums Don’t forget that it is you, who buy our music who help us survive and keep on releasing the most shamookenin’ music we can think of. So check out website out where you can order our cd’s and lp’s. The best way to support us is of course to buy our album, but donations are of course also welkams! All the best, Jonas Kullhammar, Moserobie Music Production www.moserobie.com
