Speakers Walter Smith Randolph (Moderator) NABJ VP-Broadcast & Executive Producer of Investigations, CBS News New York Walter Smith Randolph is NABJ's Vice President-Broadcast. He's also the Executive Producer of Investigations at CBS News New York and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the CUNY Newmark Graduate School of Journalism. Before CBS, the New York City native launched and led the investigative team at Connecticut Public Broadcasting. He also spent a decade as a reporter and anchor in markets across the country including Elmira, NY; Flint, MI; Kalamazoo, MI and Cincinnati. His work has been honored with a National Murrow, a New York Emmy and a Sigma Delta Chi award from SPJ. Tat Bellamy-Walker (Panelist) Program Manager, Digital Safety Training and Resources·PEN America Tat Bellamy-Walker (He/They) is the Program Manager of Digital Safety Training and Resources (Media) at PEN America. Previously, Bellamy-Walker was a communities reporter at The Seattle Times and a newsroom equity team committee member. Bellamy-Walker is program co-director of the Trans Journalists Association’s Peer Career Network, the organization’s inaugural mentoring program. Before joining The Seattle Times, they worked for NBC News’ diversity verticals and as a digital editor/reporter at Gay City News. Their work has also appeared in The Daily Beast, Inc. Magazine and on CNN. In 2023, they were selected for IWMF’s HEFAT training in Austin, Texas. JeJe Mohamed (Panelist) Security & Risk Advisor·PEN America Jeje Mohamed is a consultant and trainer for the digital safety and free expression team at PEN America. She oversees the training program and resource development for journalists, academics, and writers, equipping them with tools, safety tips, and resources to defend themselves against online harassment. She has over a decade of experience in journalism, human rights, and safety and security. She provides training, practical tools, and strategies for journalists and activists on trauma-informed and identity-aware digital safety, physical safety, de-escalation, and psychological first aid. She has worked as a journalist in Egypt and the United States, producing documentaries and podcasts Viktorya Vilk (Panelist) Director, Digital Safety and Free Expression·PEN America Viktorya Vilk (she/her/hers) is the director for digital safety and free expression at PEN America. She created and runs the organization’s Online Abuse Defense Program, which equips writers and journalists with self-defense training and resources, partners with media organizations and publishers to strengthen protections for writers and journalists and conducts research and advocacy on platform accountability. Her work has been featured on PBS Newshour, The New York Times, Slate, and Harvard Business Review, and she regularly speaks at conferences on digital safety and press freedom.
