The Dark-eyed Junco is one of the most widespread birds of North America, found all across the continent. Belonging to a family of new world sparrows called Passerellidae. Earning themselves the name “ Snowbirds” due to how they almost always seem to appear when winter sets in. They are one hardy winter bird, able to somehow survive in such freezing temperatures. To assist with this video are my good friends, Ryan and Derek from the Badgerland Birding Youtube channel. These brothers of Wisconsin provide fun and informative videos, often traveling throughout the United States as they go on a quest to find some of the more elusive or uncommon birds. I’m happy to have them help.
