In this video, I take the Albatross modular fixed-wing platform and add a Hatch Power Module, transforming it into a three-engine configuration I call “TriRaptor.” This test explores a question many fixed-wing pilots have wondered about: What happens if we combine low-KV motors with large propellers for efficiency, and a high-KV motor with a smaller propeller for speed — on the same aircraft? 🔧 Configuration Overview Twin front motors: 980KV with 7×5 props Hatch Power Module motor: 2550KV with 5-inch prop Battery: 4S LiPo FPV tail camera + GoPro canopy Modular 3D-printed airframe ✈️ Flight Highlights Rapid climb at just 85% throttle Full-throttle acceleration testing Clear FPV + GoPro mixed footage Real-world behavior at higher speeds As speed increases, acceleration becomes harder — the low-KV motors and larger propellers gradually shift from producing thrust to creating drag. This configuration isn’t perfect, but beyond satisfying curiosity, this test is meant to spark ideas. There may be much more to explore from here. 🔗 Learn More Albatross Modular Fixed-Wing Platform 👉 https://ecosphere2.com/product/albatr...
