This video will describe the tram system of Krefeld, a city in the western region of Nordrhein-Westfalen. Krefeld has a strong industrial character, where it was specialised in velvet and silk in the past, it is now home to a large steelwork of Outokumpu, as well as it is home to train manufacturer Siemens. The famous ICE trains are produced here. The tram system itself boasts 4 lines, with minimal interlining on the central section. Interestingly, on the Ostwall street, the tram shares its right of way with line U76 of the Düsseldorf Stadtbahn, forming a four-rail track section between Krefeld Hauptbahnhof and Rheinstraße.
