Hello Everyone! In this lecture video I have explained step by step solution of a question from JEE advanced 2018 paper 2. This question is based on a reaction sequence starting from acetophenone. In the first step acetophenone reacts with soidum hypobromite to form benzoic acid. When benzoic acid is reacted with ammonia in presence of heat, it is converted into benzamide. Treatement of benzamide with Bromine and KOH gives amine as per Hoffman Bromamide reaction. When amine is treated with bromine in presence of slightly polar acetic acid, it is converted into 2,4,6 tribromosubstituted aniline. We have to calculate the mass of final product formed.
