In my first book, dear Theophilus, I spoke of all that Jesus began to do and teach. The book is a testimony of the birth of the early Church, which begins with the election of Matthias as the successor of Judas. Then, the apostles receive the Holy Spirit at Pentecost and begin to preach and convert Jews and Gentiles. The book also shows us the role of Peter and Paul in the early Church, as well as other disciples and followers of Jesus. The book of Acts also shows the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit in the lives of believers. Whenever the apostles find themselves in difficult situations, they pray and receive the divine help they need to continue their mission of proclaiming the kingdom of God. In the early Church, believers shared everything they had and there were no needs among them. They advised and supported each other, and they worked together to follow the mission that Jesus had entrusted to them.
